cornyLabs ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") accesses your device contacts to provide Seri's core feature: social connection search. This agreement explains how we access, use, and protect your contact information.
We access your contacts solely for the following purposes:
We collect only the following fields from your contacts:
| Field | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Name | Displaying the connected person's identity |
| Phone number | Verifying connections, path search |
We do not collect email addresses, physical addresses, birthdays, or any other contact fields.
All collected contact data is protected as follows:
| Data | Method | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Phone number | HMAC-SHA256 hash | One-way; original cannot be recovered |
| Phone number | AES-256-GCM | Recoverable only with the encryption key |
| Name | AES-256-GCM | Shown only to mutually connected users |
What is hashing? Your phone number is converted into a unique string through one-way encryption. Even we cannot see the original phone number — we can only verify whether two numbers match.
A connection between two users is established only when all of the following conditions are met:
Examples
Mutually connected users
Your display name (as set in your profile) is shown to users you are connected with. You may appear as an intermediate node in their connection path searches.
One-sided contact (you saved them, they haven't saved you)
You will not appear in their connection path searches. However, if they search for your phone number directly, you may appear as the final node in the result — since they already have your number.
Non-users (people who haven't installed Seri)
Non-users will not appear as intermediate nodes in any connection path. They may appear as the final node only if a user directly searches for their phone number.
If you are not a Seri user but your information has been synced by another user:
You may revoke Seri's contact access at any time through your device settings.
Contact access is required to use the core features of Seri. If you wish to withdraw this agreement, you may do so by deleting your account through the Settings menu. All data will be immediately deleted upon account deletion.
For questions about this agreement, please use the in-app customer support menu.
